About RECENTER

Who is RECENTER for?

RECENTER was created by women, for women.

It is for women who want to care for their bodies with more intention, through body stewardship and a biblical lens.

Do I have to be Christian to come?

No, you do not.

Whether Christianity is already part of your life or you’re simply curious, you’re welcome to come as you are.

We only ask that everyone respects the foundation of the space.

Is RECENTER run by one specific church?

No, RECENTER is not sponsored by or run by any one specific church.

We’re about women coming together across different churches and faith journeys to pursue body stewardship together.

Our Beliefs

What does “body stewardship” mean?

Body stewardship means recognizing that our bodies are entrusted to us by God and are worth caring for with wisdom and intention.

It is not about neglecting the body, punishing it, idolizing it, or treating it like a project to perfect. It is about learning to care for our bodies in a way that honours God, through nourishment, movement, rest, and discipline.

Is RECENTER focused on fitness or body transformation?

Not in the way fitness is often framed.

RECENTER is not centered on physical goals or before-and-after pictures. We are not here to make anyone feel behind, less-than, or like they need to become a completely different person by next Tuesday.

Movement may be part of RECENTER, but our purpose is not fitness for fitness’ sake. We see movement as one way to practise body stewardship: not to perfect our bodies, but to care for what God has entrusted to us with intention and discipline.

Our Events

What kind of events can I expect?

RECENTER hosts workouts, workshops, and community gatherings in Metro Vancouver.

Some events are movement-based, while others focus on learning and reflection. The format may change, but the purpose stays the same: creating intentional spaces for women to practise body stewardship and view body care through a biblical lens.

Can I come by myself?

Absolutely!

You are welcome to come on your own. RECENTER is created to be a warm and welcoming space where you can meet others and grow in community.

You do not need to already know someone to belong here. Coming alone is more normal than you think, and we will do our best to make sure you feel welcomed, included, and not left awkwardly standing in the corner.
